Monday we’ll be closed for a Professional Development day. I will be joining the teachers at their workshops for the day.
Tuesday at the art table we will be creating hearts with a special paint. Also in the house area there will be chocolate play dough to form and shape.
Wednesday we will be making our own cheese crackers in heart shapes to enjoy with our snack. At the art table we will try heart shaped rubbings using sandpaper, doilies and bubble wrap.
We will meet with our buddies Wednesday at 10:45 upstairs in their classroom. But before that our story time will be at 10 and then we will go to gym early at 10:15.
Thursday is our fieldtrip to Sunrise Vet Clinic. You must register for this to join us. We will meet at the Vet’s office, 800 Shamrock Pl, at 9:30. After the tour is finished, approximately 10:30, I will head back to school to open for anyone who wants to join me.
Friday there will be no gym because the grade 7s are hosting their entrepreneurial fair all morning. Check out their slide show on our school website http://www.brooklynelementary.ca/ StrongStart families will be able to pop into the gym any time in the morning to shop.
Also on Friday at 10, Amber Thomas, public health nurse, will be visiting to answer any questions you may have about your child’s health, development, immunizations, etc. Because there is no gym on Friday we will have our story time up in the library at 10:30.
Our evening potluck session is planned for Monday, February 13th from 4:30 – 7pm. Bring a dish that has red in it or is heart shaped to share. We’ll be playing in the gym from 4:30 – 5 then playing in our room till just after 6 when we’ll have dinner together. Then we’ll end with story time. Please let me know if you are coming. You can sign up at the centre.
National Sweater Day happens this Thursday http://sweaterday.ca/ so wear your sweater, ugly or not, and we’ll be doing our part against climate change by turning down the heat a few degrees.
Have a great week, Maureen.
